An Evening at Trek Stirling: Learning the Skills That Keep Us Rolling
An awesome night at Trek Stirling as Veloraptors riders learned hands-on bike maintenance. From fixing flats to dialing in chain care, all while building confidence off the trail.
On Thursday evening, March 19th, the Veloraptors traded dirt trails for the shop floor as we gathered at Trek Stirling, one of our incredible team sponsors, for a educational bike maintenance session.
From the moment we walked in, it was clear this wasn’t going to be a boring “stand and listen” kind of night. The team at Trek Stirling brought energy, experience, and a genuine love for mountain biking that made the entire session engaging from start to finish.
Real Skills, Real Confidence
The focus of the night was simple but essential: helping our riders become more self-sufficient and confident with their bikes.
We covered:
How to properly change a tire (yes, everyone should know this before race day 😄)
Best practices for cleaning your bike after muddy rides
How to maintain and lubricate your chain for peak performance
Common issues riders run into—and how to fix them quickly
Throughout the session, questions were flying—and answered with the kind of practical, no-nonsense advice that only comes from people who live and breathe this sport.
People Who Truly Get It
What stood out most wasn’t just the knowledge—it was the passion.
The Trek Stirling team clearly loves what they do. They ride. They wrench. They care. And they understand exactly what youth riders need, whether it’s their first race or their tenth.
That kind of support matters. A lot.
A Jersey, A Partnership
As a small thank-you, we gifted Trek Stirling one of our Veloraptors team jerseys—and they didn’t just accept it… they proudly put it on display in their store.
That moment says everything about this partnership.
This isn’t just a sponsorship—it’s a two-way relationship built on shared values, community, and a love for getting more kids on bikes.
We regularly send riders and families their way, and they continue to support our team by pointing local riders in our direction. That kind of mutual support is rare—and powerful.
Support Those Who Support the Team
If you’re in the area and need anything bike-related—service, gear, advice, or even just a good conversation about riding—Trek Stirling is absolutely worth checking out.
And when you stop in…
Tell them the Veloraptors sent you.
