Help Us Get More Kids Rolling: Donate a Kids Bike to Greater Newark LifeCamp

The Veloraptors are collecting safe, ridable kids bikes in good working order to donate to Greater Newark LifeCamp. If your family has outgrown a kids bike that still has plenty of life left, it could help another child experience the joy and confidence of riding. Minor tune-up needs are okay, but non-functional bikes cannot be accepted. Donation deadline: June 14. Contact Brad Molzen at info@shveloraptors.com to donate or ask questions.

Help Us Get More Kids Rolling: Donate a Kids Bike to Greater Newark LifeCamp

Every year, the Veloraptors volunteer to help maintain the kids bike fleet at Greater Newark LifeCamp, a summer camp that gives children from the greater Newark area the chance to learn, grow, explore, and experience the outdoors.

We’re proud to help keep those bikes rolling, and this year we’re asking our community for help.

Have a kids bike your family has outgrown?

We are looking for donations of kids bikes in good working order that can be used by campers at Greater Newark LifeCamp.

To be accepted, bikes should be:

  • Ridable

  • Safe

  • Kids-sized

  • In good overall working condition

  • Free of major mechanical issues or missing parts

The bike does not need to be perfect. A bike that needs a little chain oil, minor brake tightening, air in the tires, or a basic once-over is completely fine.

However, we cannot accept non-functional bikes or bikes that need major repairs. The Veloraptors do not have stock or access to many older kids bike parts, so donated bikes need to be close to ready for safe use.

Donation deadline: June 14

All bike donations need to be coordinated by June 14 so we have time to review them and prepare them for the camp season.

Why this matters

As a mountain bike team, we believe bikes do more than move kids from one place to another. They build independence, confidence, balance, patience, and courage.

A bike your family has outgrown could become a summer highlight for a LifeCamp camper.
